2007 was finally a year without Michael Schumacher, since he retired at the end of the 2006 season!
The USGP was particularly interesting because it was won by rookie driver Lewis Hamilton.
This was Lewis' second career win, after he took his first checkered flag in Montreal just a week earlier.
Unfortunately, it was also the final year for Formula One at Indianapolis.
After years of declining ticket sales and bickering between Tony George and the FIA about who should promote the race,
the FIA announced shortly after the race that it would not be returning in the upcoming years.
I am sad.
After years of taking the road trip from New Jersey, it looks like the Canadian Grand Prix will be my only F1 option in North America.
Stay tuned, we'll see what happens in 2008!
